Slaty Crossing Catholic Cemetery, Yell County,
Arkansas
23 Oct 1983 Cornelia Daniels and Mary Humphrey copied this cemetery. It is
uncared for and by now 11 Jul 1992 there is probably not much left of it. It is
not fenced, and vines and underbrush were so thick it was hard to even get to
and find the markers. Mr. Standridge helped us find it. At one time there were
two acres for cemetery and Catholic Church. Lola Pearson Cooper states in her
book that some of the graves were moved to Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle. The
old foundation of the church is still there and a few markers. In 1891 the
Priest Father McCormick taught school in the church. Yell County History by
