Yell County, Arkansas was created in 1840 from parent counties of Pope and Scott. The county was named for Archibald Yell, a governor of Arkansas. There are two county seats, one in Dardanelle and the other in Danville. Each location has marriage, probate, real estate, and personal property tax records, as well as actions of the courts available.

PLEASE READ:
Until further notice, new queries will not be accepted for the query page. We hope to be able to resume accepting queries before too long, but work and other obligations have greatly reduced the time we have available to keep the pages updated. We will continue, however, to help as much as we can with questions about researching in Yell County. Also, any corrections to e-addresses will be accepted. Thanks for your kind words about our webpage and your interest.
Please do not put my e-address in your address book if you (1) don't keep your anti-virus software up to date, and/or (2) plan to send me numerous messages that have nothing to do with genealogy. While I appreciate your trying to brighten my day, I receive many messages each day from my 3 webpages, and don't have time to read a lot of extra mail. I'm only asking this because several well-meaning folks have clogged my mailbox with messages - often with pictures attached - in the last few months.
