Monticello Sep. 1 - Circuit court adjourned yesterday. Charley Williams, colored, was sentenced to five years in the penitentiary for unduly appropriating his neighbor's fat hogs to his own use. Eighty-nine indictments were reported from the grand jury.

Sep. 1: Mr. Henry Akenes, an old and respected citizen of this place, died last night after an illness of over two years. He was a member of Company I, First Arkansas Volunteers of Gen. Fagan's regiment, and has many friends throughout the state who will be pained to hear of his demise.
